This activity, generally called Construction Management, is including different type of supports that might be provided all together or only partially depending from client organization. They are paid during construction and commissioning phase.
Planning, design, and construction of a project, from its beginning to its end. For huge construction activities, Supervisors help Construction Manager to ensure that construction projects are meeting deadlines and being completed in a safe and timely manner in a specific branch.
Construction Management and Supervisors ensures that the work is carried out on time and cost-effectively, but also that the construction is executed in high quality and accordingly to design intents.
Lack of safety might cause delay in construction, and H&S Supervisor need to ensure that workers in their charge understand risks associated with the work environment and measures to control them. H&S Supervisor will make sure the control measures to protect against risk are up to date and are being properly used, maintained and monitored.
WIP report might include analysis if construction progress against the programme, identification of delays and recovery actions, highlight safety problems and their management. The Earned Value Analysis is used to assess project progress by comparing the amount and cost of work planned to have been done by a particular stage with the amount that has actually been done and its actual cost.
During construction it might happen that a change to the original construction scope is required by the client, or is needed to optimize what designed. Change Management scope is to define the cost and the time for all activities needed for the change and give to the client all the information.
Commissioning & Start-Up starts as soon as Mechanical completion is reached and installation verification executed. It might be dry, wet, or with product, and it is needed to handover the plant to the Production Operation. The scope is to guarantee the construction, facilities safety &reliability, and plant performance.
