Containment Technology

Services Activity

ECO INTERNATIONAL develops and creates solutions dedicated to containment for chemical and pharmaceutical areas

  1. URS

The aim of this phase is to define all client’s specific requirements, such as performance, Assumptions, Level of Automation. Also in this phase an unknown OEL can be defined. This data, specific for each product, is needed to proceed with system selection and design

  1. ENGINEERING – CONTAINMENT STRATEGY

When the URS are defined, as well as OEL, it is possible to set exposure Containment Performance Target [CPT], identifying and designing the containment system accordingly

  1. 3D MODELING – MOCK-UP – ERGONOMIC TEST

Process interfaces and actions executed by operator are important aspects that should be considered carefully. Mock-up is used to simulate all the activities of the process to be contained. This activity is needed to provide a proper design, considering operator ergonomic during the operation

  1. DESIGN REVIEW – MANUFACTURE

Possible inconsistencies can be identified and corrected by a Risk Analysis performed by manufacture team and the client, to be sure of precisely defining assembly operations, timelines, interfaces or further required documentation or tools

  1. FLEXIBLE CONTAINMENT

The benefits offered by using flexible containment are: Ability to rapidly upgrade existing equipment to handle potent compounds, reduced capital costs, improved ergonomics and faster project start-up. These containments are lightweight and have good visibility

  1. RIGID ISOLATOR

When working with highly potent compounds (from 10µg/m3 down to 0,01µg/m3 ) and cytotoxic products, rigid wall isolators provide an extremely safe working condition for operators and a specific contained environment can be more easily maintained. The rigid isolator has a high resistant to strong cleaning agents and neutralizing agents

  1. FAT AND INSTALLATION

Through this set of tests, is possible to verify if the solution correspond exactly to the URS and meet the expectations. A complete check of all basic functions of the electrical and mechanical systems are executed. FAT can be either performed with or without a functionality test

  1. SMEPAC TEST AND VALIDATION

Assessing the particulate containment  performance of the equipment is required in order to :  Establish if the systems used to contain the products is suitable for that purpose – Identify critical points – Evaluate potential exposure of personnel during production operation
